Books are my close friends that will never leave me. They protect and comfort those who love them. They explore for book- lovers an inspiring world with freedom but any border. It is books that teach me love and tolerance are the most powerful weapon to overcome hatred, evil and indifference. I hope that every one who reads can obtain happiness from them. I would do everything for this dream.

VV , forum director

In a world that calls for purity, we design this plan with our sincerity. We are all kind and philanthropic angels. I often think that it would be quite meaningful if I can change or influence some one’s life with help that I can offer. I have donated money before to Project hope. I have also recycled garbage to get fund for children without chances of education. I have been concerned with the fate of those children living poverty, so I clearly know that it means more than a book when we give it to them. There are also love and hope.

Maggie, a businesswoman in Japan

As a saying goes, ‘we pay more attention to read those books that are borrowed.’ It is true. I remember that when I was student, I didn’t have money for books, and had to borrow from classmates. We read with all our whole hearts because they are that precious. I have money for books now, but I can’t even remember since when that I stop to read. I take part in this program because I want to deliver those books that I have put away for so long a time to those who really need them. By doing this, I also hope to pick up the reading habit I have lost.

As a saying goes, ‘ to take care of others’ children as well as one’s own’. I always think that it is a pity of a nation when the kids couldn’t afford to go to school or to have a feed. As is said in a couplet, ‘my concern of the nation is as much as my concern of my family; I hear the sound of the wind, the drops of the rain, at the same time, the reading voices of the young.’ Nothing can be as exhilarating and as comforting as children’s reading voices. Therefore, I was quite excited to know the existence of such a significant plan, which is an opportunity for us to do things we can easily do to help the kids. I am willing to be a member of the organization, hopping to offer some help that I can do.

Cloud, newspaper editor

I am a newspaper editor. My thirteen year old daughter is about to go to high school. She always has good books around. Now, with experience accumulated for so many years, I would try my best to help those children that need help, so that more children will know what love is, and how to love.

I am so happy that I can be a volunteer of one book program. In order to let more children to feel the love from society and to learn how to share, I would like to contribute the little effort that I can make to children and the society.

An aphorism for happy life: one firstly smells the perfume if one gives flowers to others, but one is to dirt his hands if he throws dirt at others.

One is not happy because he owns a lot but because he cares for little. It is a kind of loss when one owns a lot and has a lot to take care of.  If one owns enough though a little, he or she is somewhat rich. Giving up is not always losing but owning in another way.

We need to take care of the innocence and growth of children. I am so glad to be one of the staff of one book program. As a student from Guangzhou, I hope the program can let children feel our love of them.

I was quite interested when my friend introduced to me this one book program. I am very proud to have the opportunity of doing things for children. During the time I was oversea, I found that foreign children have more chance to read books and cherish books more compared with Chinese children. Instead of damaging their books, they pass on their books to one another or just sell them out when they finish reading them.

Peach, accountant

As an accountant, I deal with numbers every day. In order not to mix them up, I imagine them as loveable children. 1 is a kid tall and thin. 6 is a over- weigh dwarf. My friends call me never-grown child every time they see me doing that. Actually, I always do that because I cherish love in my heart. I love this world, this colorful live, and our loveable kids.

On one hand, books can be our friends and teachers. On the other hand, children are the future of our country. Any plan that combines these two together deserves our support. I take part in this program, hoping that more children can read the books they want to read. Compared with the hustle and bustle of this busy world, I like more the peace of reading. It feels so relaxed and peaceful to read. However, this kind of serenity is too far away from us. I sincerely hope that more people will take part in our program and help it continue.

Tree, a painter

I am a painter. I have held many exhibitions of my paintings in some countries, for example, France. I appreciate ‘one book program’ not only because it offers opportunities of donating books to children, but because it use the mottos in the books to teach children how to read. This program will benefit the society; it is a difficult mission and will need many years’ effort though. It would be a challenge to write every motto always with passion in heart. It is not only a challenge to the program but also to the inner quality of the whole nation. It needs the effort of all of us.

Winter Yan, general supervisor HR department

I learned the idea of this program from the founder whose son had been learning English with my son. We talked about it when after class. At first we, the several parents of the kids, have reminded her of the possible difficulties and disadvantages of the program. However, we can only say that we are moved by her perseverance, when we saw the determination on her face and the vitality she gathered for the benefit of children. I am willing to work for the program, for my child and other kids. Let’s work hard.

Ye Lalala, engineer and executants of commonw

‘To work for commonweal with creative ideas, use the market system to work for the commonweal of the society’. ---This is what I learned form years of work for commonweal. To work for commonweal is not only the responsibility of the government and NGOs. Every citizen should form a concept of responsibility in mind.

The success of ‘one book program lies in that it does not preach salvation like other commonweal programs do. The program emphasizes share and communication. It emphasizes educating next generation with an attitude of equality. I believe that many enterprises and city people will take part in the program, because it is the responsibility of all of us to care for the next generation. I am honored to be able to work for this program. I am happy because I share.

Aimee a university student in GUangzhou

Books can bring knowledge to children, and love can bring hope to children. We donate a book hoping that these children can learn knowledge from it. We give our love hoping that these kids can feel the warmth of it from all around the China. I hope that by working for ‘one book program’, I can impart knowledge to children, hand over them love, and help them learn the spirit of share.

Allien,a Chinese girl studying in America

Although I am in America, I appreciate ‘one book program’ as you do in China. I owe a lot to books for my achievement. Books have been my buddies since I was a little child. I remember that during the year when my parents worked abroad, books were all that accompanied me. It taught me self-reliance and endeavor. I hope that more kids can have books to read and can learn to cherish them. I also hope that more people will take part in this ‘one book program’.

tn,Majordomo of international communication d

Every day, I receive friends and visitors from all over the world, during which I strongly feel the fascination of Chinese culture. Chinese civilization has attracted people from both developed and developing countries. Tradition and quintessence of Chinese civilization couldn’t be lost, therefore, we need to direct the next generation. Supporting ‘ one book program will help to continue Chinese tradition and culture.
